Ear problems from cell phone use

An article in Men's Health reported that either using a cell phone for too long or holding it too firmly against the ear can lead to the skin disorder chondrodermatitis. Chondrodermatitis is described as "tiny, painful, crusty bumps" on the outside of the ear (Spiker 41).

To reduce your risk to such a condition, besides cutting down on cell phone use and keeping it situated farther away from your ear, cell phone users should always switch ears every once in awhile to relieve pressure on one ear.
