Radiation in cell phones

Radiation from cell phone use and other related short-term side effects has existed as a deterrent for potential customers. However, numerous recent studies are beginning to show inconclusive results. If anything, this shows that short-term effects of cell phones from radiation is minimal; in the short run they obviously do not cause cancer. However, so far no long-term study has been completed, and cell phone users may very well feel the effects of their use in the years to come. Thus, most researchers advise cell phone users to use caution (Brewin 7).

On the same note, another study concluded that cell phone radiation was not "clinically important [enough] to hinder interpretation of data or cause an equipment malfunction" in medical devices. Researchers who tested these possibilities did so by placing different types of cell phones (digital and analog) and measuring the effect of the interference generated by the cell phone. The radiation deemed "clinically important" by testers occurred only 7% of the time ("Cell Phone Interference: How Serious" CC6).
