About the Author of Cell Phone World

Who am I? Why did I make this site? What kind of credentials or qualifications do I have? What are my policies on using information from my site?

I've received quite a few emails regarding these questions, so I hope to answer them in this section. When I created this site, I was a third-year Rutgers University student studying Computer Science with a passing interest in cell phone technology.

Originally 'cell phone world' was for one of my classes, namely Web Authoring during the summer of 2001. The semester-long project was to create a web site recognizing or highlighting a current social issue. Naturally I figured out how to combine my cell phone interest into something more tangible.

Why this topic?

Mainly because of simple interest. It's very hard to explain why cell phones have sparked such an interest in me.

And now the big question: qualifications?

Absolutely none. I don't work for a cell phone company, nor do I consider myself an expert by any means. What I have been able to come up with on this site has been through research. Research from articles in my school's database, books, magazines, journals, and the Internet. So you could say that my opinions and conclusions are based on hard facts, or at the very least reputable sources. One thing that I have made sure has been done is giving credit where it's due. Hence the laundry list of sources on the bibliography page.

I have no qualms about anyone using, paraphrasing, or quoting information contained within this site as long as this site (or any of the authors contained) is listed as a source. You don't even have to email me (although feel free to). All I ask is simple consideration for the work that's been done, not only by me, but also by the authors that I've listed as sources. And that's it.

What's your email?

For now, you can use ang at angbox dot net. To be honest, I check this email account only occasionally.

I do this because the last time this web site was opened (during my Rutgers years), I was deluged with TONS of email. And the majority of it was from journalists or students asking x or y. I should also probably mention that I'm not a big fan of personal interviews (especially phone interviews), so the answer's no, and please don't email me for one. Your email will probably be dropped into a large pit never to be seen again.
